Bob and Tony attended the first meeting of the Petersfield Spatial Strategy Project to meet the consultants tasked with the whole-Town public consultation on the future of Petersfield. We are represented on both the Steering Group and the Project Group (TS).
There will be a Public consultation event on The Square 4th June (see our website for details) and a Stakeholders meeting and several workshops have been arranged.
The 'Project Overview and Methodology' (adapted from the original project brief) along with a copy of the proposed methodology by David Lock Associates have been shared. I have shared details of known interested ‘stakeholder’ groups with the consultants.
The consultation is due to report back in Mid August.
Essentially dormant except that Tony is representing P2M on the Petersfield Project largely in the context of the TDS.
Previously minuted - There will be a Greening Campaign Reception at the House of Commons on 13th June at 1600.)
Tracy is having a detailed look at information from the Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre (HBIC), and is compiling charts to aid in identifying areas suitable for detailed surveys. Waiting to hear from HBIC regarding funding for detailed surveys. Walkabouts will begin soon and the detailed survey will determine which areas would benefit from detailed surveys.
The SDNP Event on 1st April was very successful – the event was planned at very short notice with strong input from the Event Committee. Lucie Soal (EHDC) was complimented and thanked for her work in bringing some 20+ Community Groups to the Event.
We are awaiting a claim for the 1st April Event costs via Philip Haines from the Grants awarded to P2M (£1,700). P2M is in receipt of an Invoice number 516 from Navigate Design for £2,989.82 “for your records”.
Transport, Movement & Public Realm
The Group has obtained more information from HCC (Dominic) and will start to put ideas into the public domain. The HCC resolution (Executive Decision) is in hand. The intentions for the Town Access Plan are being monitored. The Group are anxious to bring a keen and knowledgeable cyclist on board.
Action for Market Towns
We have been informed that our Hidden Britain Project has not won an Award in the Business and Economic Category for the AMT awards in the South East Zone.
Lavant Street & Station
Hilary will investigate the situation regarding the £20k previously earmarked for a Lavant Street project.
The railway station environs continue to be a concern. The SDNPA will be approached to see if it is able to take a keen interest in this important ‘gateway’
