Minutes from the last meeting
The minutes of the meeting on 16th September 2009 were accepted,
This meeting followed on from the Hidden Britain Group meeting where the next actions for securing funding for its Projects were agreed.
The Project Brief for the Lavant Street ‘scoping study’ has been agreed and is being tendered. The possibility of up to £20,000 being earmarked by EHDC for subsequent projects was noted.
P2M are eligible for a grant of up to £1,000 from EHDC via its Community Planning Process Grant budget. There is an application form available for such requests. The general view was that this funding would be best used for such as the launch of the TDS after consultation and adoption and towards re-vitalising P2M.
Town Character (Vincent Edberg)
The Group will meet later in the Month to finalise the TDS prior to its adoption by EHDC. The P2M agreed budget is likely to be sufficient for immediate needs.
Local Transport (Tony Shaw)
The improvements to the Station Forecourt lighting were welcomed. The photographic database of bus stop information has been updated and it was agreed to fund this additional work. Sarah Hobbs, the Access Officer at EHDC, is setting up a local bus group meeting. Concerns were raised regarding the consequences for Petersfield of losing the Traffic Warden. The possibility that the delay in HCC starting the Town Access Plan is being addressed was noted.
Environment & Local Produce
Linda outlined her current activity to bring forward active projects including a Local Biodiversity Plan and community group work on the Water Meadows. The Greening Campaign continues its intention to achieve a project relationship with P2M.
No financial update was available.
