£330 has been received from EHDC for the Health Check Project (We are required to match this funding).
Bob tabled a Cash Flow Forecast document. The figures are approximate in some cases but showed that our funds would be exhausted by the 2nd quarter of 2013. This was an early draft that had been shown to the Town Council.
Transport and Public Realm
There will be a meeting soon to look at the District Access Statement (DAS). A draft DAS is being published at the beginning of June. The group is meeting with SDNP officers soon. All bids for funding are on the grounds of sustainability and are in broad terms. No decisions had been taken on these bids. Two general meetings had been held under the auspice of the Petersfield Society to consider transport and parking in Petersfield. EHDC had drawn up a list of schemes to be considered. Some of these may be coming through the Community Forum. The need for consultation with the public was stressed. The Group intends to make use of the ‘wiki’ last used by the Town Character Group for the TDS. It is hoped that its full potential for public consultation will be exploited.
Sara Hobbs (Access Officer at EHDC) will update the Group on Transport Projects.
Community Garden and Orchard
The lease for the land on Waterworks Road had been signed. Rents are to be paid next month and access will follow ploughing of the land. Greening Petersfield are able to pay the rent and deposit from a grant given by John West towards a Community Garden. In future subscriptions from members should cover the rent. The grant of £500 from P2M would be spent on gating. Until Greening Petersfield has access to the land it cannot produce a budget or make requests to the Treasurer. A Steering Group within Greening Petersfield consisting of Sue Edberg, Claire Francis and Amanda Greenlee is making decisions on the Community Garden.
The Project Group has achieved an outline form for the BAP and Tracy was completing the labeling and content. In addition the Group are to hold a stall in Rams walk on 16th May. This was to publicize the removal of Himalayan Balsam and make the work on the BAP known to the public. It was hoped to have a P2M banner to display at the stall.
Bob & Ben continue to add and improve the content of the VisitPetersfield website. Several new shops have been added recently and the owners have been most appreciative. Post Meeting Note: the Company used to distribute the 3-fold Petersfield Guide have advised that they are out of stock and that another print run is required – this is another funding challenge.
Lavant Street Improvement
We are trying to time the signage at the Central Car Park pedestrian exits to match the painting of existing gates and signage. The Lavant Street Footway improvements are nearing completion. This has been an excellent Project with close collaboration between us and the Local Authorities (HCC, EGDC, PTC, SDNP).
Health Check Update
EHDC funding is received and work will commence soon.
We need to make the public more aware of P2M and the work it is doing.
The Station Gateway to the Town and the Park continues to be a Project.
Committee 4 July 1830 Council Chamber.
AGM 17 October 1900 Rose Room (to be confirmed).
