Transport, Movement and Public Realm Group

The Transport, Movement and Public Realm Group is turning its attention to the Petersfield Town Access Plan (TAP) which will assess the travel and transport needs needs of those accessing the Town along with auditing the sustainable travel and transport infrastructure that may be available. The County Council intend to carry out the TAP in 2011/12 and have agreed to consult Petersfield Tomorrow, who have already completed a survey of pedestrian and vehicle signage inside and outside the Town.
As part of the TAP an action plan will be developed which will consider: passenger transport; traffic management and highways improvements; road safety, personal safety, walking & cycling routes; and 'smarter choice measures'.
The Group will also take an in depth look at the longer term recommendations made in the Town Design Statement.
The original whole Town survey by Petersfield Tomorrow proved considerable interest and support for these issues and the findings are summarised below:
